Favorite Disney Character: Mulan. I love her as an empowered female.
Favorite theme park: Universal. Now our kids are bigger they love the bigger rides at Universal. And we all love Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights. It’s the favourite time of year for our youngest and Halloween Horror Nights is his favourite event of the year!
Favorite theme park ride: Hulk, because it was the first of the really big rollercoasters that I went on. It must have been around 17 years ago. I did it as a single rider and I’ll never forget the shaky feeling coming off it! It probably has a special place in my heart because of that.
Favorite local attraction: I love going to Celebration. To me, it’s like stepping back in time. I love to take a walk around the lake. The hustle and bustle of Disney is only five minutes’ away but Celebration seems so tranquil – like a little bit of zen.
Favorite local restaurant: Kobe’s Japanese Steak House. I love the food and, because it’s a teppanyaki grill, you get that entertainment factor too.
Top packing essential: My family.
Best travel tip: Don’t sweat the small stuff. As long as you’ve got your passport, you don’t need to worry about anything else!
Favorite vacation home feature: I love homes that have a lanai by the pool. Having a covered area where I can work while the family is in the pool is great. You can catch up on work stuff while feeling like you’re part of the vacation as well.
Fun fact about me: I found out during lockdown that I’m actually a bit of a cook! Prior to that, I didn’t cook at all. I’m a slow but tidy cook. I like to cook Asian dishes. My signature dish is probably a Cambodian Curry.
Most rewarding part of my job: Getting to see the impact our vacations make. We help people to make special memories which they will treasure forever. We recently hosted a family where one of the kids was in end-of-life care. We made the experience as special as possible for them, with superhero-themed rooms, candies and a cinema room. They made so many fantastic memories as a family. To be able to bring that joy amidst everything they were going through is a very special privilege. We can make a real difference to people’s lives.

Hi Amanda! Tell us a little bit about yourself?
I love Florida. We’ve been vacationing there for decades. It’s great to be part of a business that helps other people to enjoy the Florida experience.
Do you have a top tip for guests to get the most from the experience?
Every guest has a story. For many of our guests their vacation is a lifechanging experience. The great thing about being part of White Rose Villas is our ability to have a positive impact on that experience.
For me, I love cruising. The fantastic thing about vacationing in Florida is you can combine the two. Stay in a villa in Kissimmee and enjoy the park experience. Then head off to Port Canaveral, just a couple of hours away, and you can take a cruise around the Caribbean. After you’ve cruised the Caribbean, come back to the villa for another week to relax. You can enjoy the best of both worlds.
Please describe your role at White Rose Villas?
I deal with all the day-to-day banking transactions, paying vendors, collating invoices, reconciling charges for the owners’ statements and compiling them for finalisation. I also create the financial statements and reports necessary to run the business efficiently. I review the accounts on a methodical basis to identify ways to save money for the company and our homeowners, so we can offer the best prices to our guests.
What do you bring to the business?
I have nearly three decades of experience as a management accountant. I bring that experience to White Rose Villas, first part-time and now fulltime. It’s been fantastic to see the business grow and know my skills are supporting that growth.
What do you love about working for White Rose Villas?
It’s been amazing to see the team grow and develop, especially the team in the USA.
I’m proud to be part of a business that has integrity. A lot of our homeowners who come to us have been bitten previously by poor property management companies or low-quality property management. The White Rose Villas team is on a mission to restore their confidence and enable them to enjoy their vacation home again, instead of it being a source of stress.
