Our story

When I think about our journey with White Rose Villas, it takes me back to 2004, when it all began with a leap of faith and a bit of serendipity.

 

My family and I had never even been to Florida before. We had our sights set on buying a home in Tenerife. But my mum, Lynne, in a wonderful twist of fate, decided that Florida would be our adventure.

 

Together, my mum and my two sisters embarked on the journey, purchasing our first property off-plan. In 2005, the house was built and, suddenly, we were in the heart of it all – figuring out property management, dealing with contractors and handling everything from afar. Back then, it was the good old days: no WiFi, simple deposits and keys that were actually mailed to guests! Marketing was a different world too, filled with magazine ads and word-of-mouth recommendations. Life was simpler and we were wide-eyed – learning as we went along.

 

Our plan was for my parents to enjoy the home during the winter months while we rented it out the rest of the year. But life had other plans. In 2006, Mum was diagnosed with lung cancer. She passed away the following year, never having had the chance to fully enjoy the holiday home she had inspired us to build.

 

In the midst of our grief, Florida became a passion for our family. My eldest sister made the move there, eventually purchasing our property management company. It was here that the adventure truly began and, along with it, a whole new world of memories, laughter, challenges and growth. I, too, felt the pull to become more involved and started a reservations company, managing bookings for my sister and others, as well as for property managers in the area. This ignited my own dream of setting up a property management company.

 

 

In 2018, White Rose Villas was born, starting with our very first home in Sandy Ridge with owners Dawn & Bob. Their home is still part of our White Rose family today. The company has grown gradually since. Our focus remains firmly on connecting with each owner and guest, understanding their needs and being there for them every step of the way.

 

It’s a challenging business with long hours. The reward is in seeing those five-star reviews and knowing that our guests feel at home and cared for. The White Rose Villas team works tirelessly to ensure each property is clean, safe and welcoming.

 

I often get asked why we’re called White Rose Villas. Being a Yorkshire lass living in Scotland, it’s a gentle nod to my mum – a proud Yorkshire woman who made the world’s best Yorkshire puddings and who inspired us on this journey.

 

Florida holds a special place in my heart. It’s a privilege to welcome guests who come for a myriad of reasons – from enjoying magical family vacations to creating treasured memories at the end of a loved one’s journey. The White Rose Villas team understands that each guest’s story is unique. It’s an honour to play a small role in each of our guest’s holiday experience.

 

As I reflect on our journey, I feel incredibly grateful to everyone who has been a part of White Rose Villas. It’s your passion and attention to detail which ensures our guests feel welcome and our homeowners feel supported, and I couldn’t be prouder of all that we achieve together.
