Cara is our part-time Operations Manager with a strong focus on reservations and projects. Guests can rest assured that she will iron out any issues quickly. Our homeowners can depend on Cara to coordinate our teams on the ground to meet your wishes and ensure your guests have a great time.
CARA FACT FILE
Favorite Disney Character: Minnie Mouse. I grew up loving her. And Mickey Mouse Clubhouse was my kids’ first favourite show.
Favorite theme park: SeaWorld. The park is really well set up. There’s plenty to do, yet it has a more relaxed vibe than some of the other parks. There’s something for everyone and my kids are at an age where they just love it.
Favorite theme park ride: Any of the big rollercoasters – although I’m terrified of them!
Favorite local attraction: The best attraction for me is the pool in the vacation home. My kids are big swimmers, so it’s easy for us to stay home while they splash in the pool. It’s an easy pace and relaxing for all of us. My kids have fun and we get to relax too.
Favorite local restaurant: We don’t go out much when we’re in Florida. We like to sit by the pool and enjoy a grill out. There’s usually a Publix close to whichever home you stay at and they have a great selection of fresh meat and veggies.
Top packing essential: My kids are at an age where they need lots of things. It’s great that White Rose Villas homes come with some of the essentials. For me, it’s all about ensuing that their blankies and bedding makes it with us!
Best travel tip: Bring all the snacks and activities for the journey! Pack a few activities that your kids haven’t seen before so you can keep them occupied on the plane.
Favorite vacation home feature: The pool area. I always look for a good size pool and a comfortable living space.
Fun fact about me: I’m actually a Northerner! I’ve lived all over but South Carolina is definitely home now. My family tease me for it but I’ve definitely adapted to the warmer weather!
Most rewarding part of my job: It’s a privilege to work here. What we’re doing is providing a comfortable and fun space for our guests to vacation. Some of our guests save up a long time to be able to visit Florida and we get to be the people who make their trip perfect for them.
ABOUT CARA
Hi Cara! Tell us a little bit about yourself?
I’m a mom to two and I’ve worked in hotels and property management for years. My work has taken me all around the world – I’ve worked in Pittsburgh, Milwaukee, Berlin, New Orleans, Savannah. We’ve now settled in Bluffton, South Carolina, where we’ve lived for the last fourteen years.
Tell us about your role at White Rose Villas?
I began working a few hours per week on bookings and reservations and a few special projects. I clicked with Lisa straight away and we’ve had a great relationship right off the bat.
Now that I am taking on more hours and a more senior role as Operations Manager, I’m really excited to help grow the business. You can think of me like a middleman between our homeowners and our team on the ground in Florida, helping to coordinate and organise.
What do you love about working for White Rose Villas?
I love what I do. I love to work closely with the team and really get into the day-to-day operations, even though I’m not in Florida.
I used to work in in-person property management in Hilton Head, South Carolina, but I wanted a role that would allow me to spend more time at home and with my kids. The great thing about working for White Rose Villas is that I have so much flexibility. Flexible working enables me to spend more time with my family.
What do you bring to the role of Operations Manager?
I have a great understanding of property management. I understand the challenges of the day-to-day operations. That means I am not going to over-promise because I know what goes on behind the scenes to get the homes ready.
I also understand how important the relationships with our homeowners are. That means I put in the time and effort to communicate and ensure they remain fully informed.
How are you hoping to develop the role in the future?
I am really looking forward to building closer relationships with our homeowners now that I am working fully in property management. I want our homeowners to know that they can come to me and I will help them.
We’re working closely as a team to develop the processes and procedures that will enable us to grow the company smartly and properly; making sure that we’re well organised and that people feel like they are getting the attention they need.
